A new collection of 68 contemporary collects written to provide modern prayers for worship in the Church of England. The new prayers offer an alternative to, and complement, the original Collects and Post Communions.
The prayers are presented in a large format paperback and provide material for Sundays, Principal Feasts that fall on Sundays and Principal Holy Days.
You can find out more about the background to the creation of the Additional Collects by reading our recent web feature about the writing of the collects, written by Colin Podmore, Secretary to the Liturgical Commission.
Sample prayers taken from Additional Collects
Eternal God,
in the stillness of this night
you sent your almighty Word
to pierce the world's darkness with the light of salvation:
give to the earth the peace that we long for
and fill our hearts with the joy of heaven
through our Saviour, Jesus Christ.

by the raising of your Son
you have broken the chains of death and hell:
fill your Church with faith and hope;

in our Saviour Jesus Christ.
Collect for Easter Day
Faithful Lord,
whose steadfast love never ceases
and whose mercies never come to an end:
grant us the grace to trust you
and to receive the gifts of your love,
new every morning,
in Jesus Christ our Lord.

God of glory,
touch our lips with the fire of your Spirit,
that we with all creation
